This is what i would call an excellent example of poor design. Everything from trying to install batteries to just trying to turn the light off, is really frustrating. Trying to twist the top on after installing the batteries is close to impossible and after it's twisted on there the seal is not quite right. I always wonder if the batteries are going to fly outta there if i hit a bumb to hard. The weak little clamp that is included constantly moves so be prepared for lots of one handed riding as you'll be re-adjusting the light upon every install. I have been commuting with this light set for the winter season, which means that mornings and evenings were pretty much all in the dark. This set is a decent purchase for the price. I have a combination urban and suburban commute, and use the front light in flash mode for the busy part of the ride and then switch to steady when I need the added visibility on the road in front. First of all, do not buy this light if you are going to attach it to a rack. The rack-mount is TERRIBLE and uses metal screws that you are supposed to screw into threadless plastic nuts (the screw makes it's own threads or something like that.) It's impossible to make it tight because you just strip out the plastic part.More importantly, the light sensor turns it off when I don't want it to and it doesn't have a non-automatic mode! Installation was rather straight forward but I would suggest dry mounting the magnet on the pedal first - perhaps using a short strip of electrician's tape. Once you're sure it's positioned correctly, then apply as suggested in the manual, or glue it in place with an epoxy product.
